"Photography is the science, art, application and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film."
Today is a great day for Seaford students interested in the artistic pursuit of photography.
Beginning within the next two years, students will have the opportunity to take photography classes under the instruction of the art department. After getting a solid foundation of how the camera works in an introductory photo class (Photo 1) from the technology department, interested students will continue their craft in classes taught by art teachers. Our plan is to teach intermediate and advanced photography as creative and conceptual classes teaching not only composition, but as a means for the artist to express themselves, just as a painter paints.
I'm excited to be a part of the development of this new curriculum! Just think about how much better your Instagram feed will look!
